Trauma Informed Victim Interviewing

Trauma-Informed Victim Interviewing is a two-part single module course that discusses trauma-informed approaches to interviewing adults who report having been recently sexually assaulted. It was written for law enforcement officers in West Virginia, including those based on college campuses, who respond to and investigate sexual assault cases. Facilitating trauma-informed victim interviews is an essential part of a successful criminal sexual assault investigation, along with an effective initial coordinated response to reports, properly documenting interviews and coding cases, and gathering all potentially available information and evidence related to the case.
